Our patented technology, your comfort
British designed and engineered
Two british born patents power bolt
Our patented dual energy heat exchanger’s unique design maximises water flow and surface area, while reducing water volume, to reach close to 100% thermal energy transfer from the grid and battery to the water. This provides hot water as instantly as a standard 34KW combi boiler.
You’ll find it’s more than enough to feed several powerful showers or a bath, and far outpaces the performance of a traditional electric combi boiler.
Smart Energy Integration
Bolt integrates multiple energy sources to maximise efficiency and performance through:
- Battery boost capability increases output power or reduces load on your consumer unit
- Seamless integration with existing solar systems and batteries to lower energy bills
- Intelligent charging when tariffs drop below a set threshold or during off-peak hours
- Optional direct solar connection that forms a 2kW system without expensive grid-tie inverters, cutting installation costs in half
- Dual DC and AC heaters working in series, coupling energy systems through water for maximum efficiency
Intelligent Operating Modes
Bolt automatically adapts to your needs with three smart operating modes, optimizing energy use and performance.
Eco Mode
- Delivers one shower using primarily battery power when fully charged
- Minimises grid power usage to save money
- Significantly reduces grid load for energy savings
Power Mode
- Utilizes full grid capacity combined with battery power
- Ideal for baths and multiple simultaneous showers
- Maximum performance for high-demand situations
Auto Mode
- Intelligently selects the optimal mode based on battery charge, water flow, and time of day
- Automatically balances performance and efficiency
Bolt operates continuously, delivering at least one shower without needing a storage tank. In both Eco and Power modes, the battery provides approximately 40 minutes of operation before seamlessly switching to grid power for continuous shower operation.
100% control in the palm of your hand
- Remotely control heating
- Set tariff rates for low-price grid charging of the battery
- Tracking battery charge level
- Setting times for solar and grid charging
- Inbuilt thermostat
- Track water and energy usage
- Switch between operating modes
Bolt has fewer parts than an equivalent gas boiler -- which means less to go wrong. Our customers find their Bolt boilers exceptionally low maintenance -- representing a significant cost saving in servicing over the lifetime of the system. Just for peace of mind, your Bolt app will keep you connected to the team, so in the very unlikely event you do have an issue with Bolt, we're always just a tap away.
No bulky tank
Direct combi replacment
If you're retiring your old gas boiler, Bolt offers a completely hassle-free replacement. Using existing pipe connections and radiators, Bolt can be fitted just a few hours, and with as little as a 4KW grid connection matches the performance of a 34KW gas boiler when boosted with a battery. Plus, add a dedicated solar panel to create a super efficient, DC-to-DC system to charge the Bolt battery, and heat your home with renewable energy.
Charging your Bolt
Connect directly to a rooftop panel
Bolt is equipped
with standard solar connectors which you can plug directly into a rooftop panel -
without the need for an inverter. This setup delivers up to a 20% efficiency gain, and
Bolt will automatically charge your batteries with solar when it's available.
Low tariff charging
You can shedule your Bolt to charge
during low-cost tariff hours, and combine this with daytime solar charging for maximum
energy efficiency.
AI charge controller
Coming soon to the Bolt app, AI
charging will use local weather data to determine the optimal ratio of solar and
low-tariff charging to ensure your hot water and heating needs are always powered as
efficiently as possible.
